Stay Out of Trouble on Periscope

I heard the BEST advice summed up on an article entitled “Legal Issues with Periscope” by Ruth Carter. I had to share.

Before you do or say anything online (and in real life):

“Assume everything you post will be seen by four people: your best friend, your worst enemy, your boss, and your mother. If you don’t want to one of those people to see what you’re thinking about posting, don’t say it.”

[Tweet “Great advice: before you post, assume this…. “]

Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!

Do you know people have been fired, lost jobs, and destroyed family and friendship connections by acting too quickly and blasting their feelings over social media. We live in an age where our opinions are allowed to be heard more than any other time in history…and we expect zero consequences.

Make sure to check out Ruth’s site here. She’s also the author of a book entitled The Legal Side of Blogging: How Not to Get Sued, Fired, Arrested, or Killed.

Think of all the trouble you can save by heeding these wise words! Also, if you’re active on Periscope, I recommend reading the rest of the article here.
