Start.

Start.

The challenge is issued. The glove thrown. The gauntlet readied.

Start.

It can be anything. Open a book. Clean out a drawer. Write the first paragraph of your 12-page final essay. Type a page of the novel swimming in your head.

Just start.

I have a running list of things that need to be done…chores, goals, dreams. Yet I hesitate. Sometimes the motivation isn’t there. So I do nothing.

Yet this morning was different. A kind word in the form of a handwritten note from my husband ignited the wicks of all the projects. My heart soared. My energy rose. I’m invincible today.

So I’m passing on a kind word to you.

The little things you do may go unnoticed by many, but not by God. Those little things matter. Greatness is the sum of a million seemingly insignificant tasks. You are awesome, and you can accomplish anything.

We don’t have to finish everything on our lists today.

But today we’ll start.
