The Start of a Life-Long LOVE

Today is a HUGE day for me. TWENTY years ago (wow!), my daddy took me to my first college football game – the 1994 Texaco Classic at the Citrus Bowl featuring Notre Dame and Florida State.

I started rooting for ND b/c of my Irish heritage, but about the second quarter, I saw a blonde co-ed stand up in her FSU jersey and cry the war chant.

I wanted to be her.

At that moment, I forever became a life-long Florida State fan.

This poster hung in my room for the next six years until I graduated high school. My brother, Nathaniel, said it was seeing this poster that made him start rooting for FSU all those years ago.

We won that game 23-16…and today, as we go head-to-head with Notre Dame again, I’m cheering for another victory.
