Mine’s not Math…

I’m willing to embarrass myself.

On the show I’m watching, the girl wants to know how many people a guy has kissed.

“I’m not one to kiss and tell,” he says.
“Oh come on,” she pressures. “Tell me.”
“Let’s just say, less than the square root of 64.”
She gasps. “You’ve kissed 64 people?”
He looks at her like she’s crazy.
“Seven,” he answered. “You’re not very good at math.”

And neither am I, since I thought he must have kissed three people since four is the square root of 64.

(Except eight is the square root of 64.)

So I’m not a math whiz.  Yes, I need a calculator to do simple addition and subtraction problems. It was not always this way, but now it is.

One of my favorite quotes:

My genius may not be in mathematics, but it is in writing. And I’m not feeling prideful in saying it.

I’m a writer! I want to shout it from the rooftops! When God gives you a talent, don’t hide it! Don’t use false modesty, “Aww, shucks, I’m not that good.” If you’re good, be good! Be proud! Don’t flaunt it, obviously, but find a way to use it for His glory.

If you’re still confused about all the numbers, don’t worry honey, I would be too if I hadn’t written it.

What’s your talent? Be proud! Share!
