It starts young—not sharing the Barbies, pulling hair, and forming clubs specifically designed to exclude. As a teenager, the mean girl spreads rumors and is sweet to your face and mean behind your back. Practice makes perfect, I guess.

I wish I could say it gets better as you get older, but it doesn’t. Mean girls turn into mean women. Wouldn’t you say it’s better to learn how to deal with them now, since you’re gonna deal with them the rest of your life?
