Now that Thanksgiving is over, our family “officially” welcomed the Christmas season. My sister decorated her house a couple of weeks ago, but I remain firm to not listen to a Christmas carol until I’ve stuffed my face full of Thanksgiving goodies and slept off the food-coma.
Christmas time, one of the most joyous times of year, can quickly turn into a pull-out-my-hair, I-hate-Rudolph season. Instead of focusing on celebrating the birth of the One who came to save us, we stress over piles of wrapping paper, baked goods, and party invitations.
How can we remain less stressed in the midst of the bustle and chaos?
Woman to Woman Ministries presents the Christmas Blessing Giveaway! Join thirty-two bloggers for ideas and advice on how to remain peaceful in a stressful season.
In addition to sweet encouragement on keeping the peace in your home and heart, we are giving away a blessing of $320 in PayPal cash. The winner will have the money transferred to their PayPal account where they can use it for Christmas celebrations, groceries, bills, whatever they need. To enter to win simply complete all of the tasks in the rafflecopter below.
Rafflecopter giveaway.I find there are a few things that help our family stay less stressed during the holidays. Perform “Winter” cleaning instead of Spring Cleaning. I’ve almost purged every room in our home of clutter, paper, excess. Not only is our house cleaner and more organized, there are no qualms of having guests over at a moment’s notice. No stress!! Because we’re getting rid of things, it helps us limit our purchases…especially with the great deals tempting us! Decorate! It’s brilliant to come home to a beautifully decorated house. It doesn’t have to be expensive to decorate. Michael’s and JoAnn’s Fabrics have great coupons in the Sunday papers and you can slowly add decor week-by-week using their fantastic 40% and 50% off coupons. Don’t forget to shop after Christmas for next year when everything is dramatically reduced.
Speak softly. When there are a million things on your to-do list and you’re tired of every person in your house, at your job, at school, at the grocery store, etc, speak softly. Not only do people have to quiet themselves to hear you, it will keep your blood pressure down, which is necessary with all the treats we indulge in starting with Thanksgiving.
Make homemade gifts. Not only can making gifts cut your shopping expenses, the joy of giving someone something you put your heart and soul can bring joy to your life as well as the receivers.
For other ways to be stress-free and joyful, check out the other blogs participating in the Giveaway, and don’t forget to enter.
No purchase necessary. Must be 18 to enter. Void where prohibited by law. This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or associated by Facebook. By entering this giveaway, you agree to release Facebook, Woman to Woman Ministries and all participating blogs of all liability.
Contest ends at 12:01am EST on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Winner is randomly chosen by Rafflecopter and will be emailed on December 11, 2012, then funds will be transferred to winner’s PayPal account.
